Our beloved grandfather, Poppy Sol, started this business in an open-air market. Three generations later, we’re still bringing smiles to our customers' faces.
Grown in the northwest region of the United States, triticale berries are a unique hybrid of wheat and rye.
Triticale Berries are used for grinding in your home mill or for sprouting. This nutritious, tasty grain is outstanding when cooked until tender, cooled, and added to your favorite yeast bread to add a full- bodied texture and light rye flavor.
Store Triticale in tightly sealed plastic or glass containers in a cool, dry, dark cabinet for up to 6 months.
Cooking Instructions: 1 cup triticale berries, 3 1/4 cups water.
Combine the triticale and 2-1/4 cups of the cold water in a medium-size saucepan. Cover and soak at room temperature overnight.
The next day, add the remaining 1 cup of water to the pot and heat to boiling. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover and cook until tender, 40-50 minutes. Drain the Triticale and set it aside to cool. If possible, let it rest in the refrigerator for a day before using. Triticale may be stored up to 3 days in the refrigerator, in a bowl covered with plastic wrap.
There are approximately 3 3/4 cups per pound.

“I believe in being prepared for whatever the future may bring, and I wanted to add a few of the more "exotic" grains, such as amaranth and triticale, to my food supply. In researching resources for these grains, your site appeared to have the most reasonable prices. But when I started to investigate all of the products you offer, I was really impressed. I ended up ordering a few sweet treats in addition to my grain order. I have to say the Australian licorice is the best licorice I've had in decades! The Tiramisu and Amaretto cordials are to die for! And the cheesecake chocolate fudge should probably be illegal, it's so good! Thanks for outstanding products and super-fast delivery!”
