Our beloved grandfather, Poppy Sol, started this business in an open-air market. Three generations later, we’re still bringing smiles to our customers' faces.
Organic Chia Seeds
Organic Chia seeds (Salvia hispanica) are extremely high in Omega-3 and are loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Organic chia seeds can be eaten raw as a dietary fiber and omega-3 supplement. The soaked seeds are gelatinous in texture and are used in gruels, porridges and puddings. Ground chia seed is used in baked goods including breads, cakes and biscuits. We also carry non-organic chia seeds.
These chia seeds are organic, raw, Non-GMO, non-irradiated, and produced in the wild without pesticides.
Tiny Seeds with Big Health Benefits
Rich in Omega-3
30% of Chia seed oil is Omega-3 oil. 10% of its oil is Omega-6 oil. This is the perfect balance of essential fatty acids. Western diets are usually susceptible to a deficiency of Omega-3, but a proper Omega 3:6 ratio plays an important role by reducing inflammation in our bodies.
Organic chia seeds are great for athletes because they are highly hydrophilic, meaning they can absorb large amounts of water. They can hold 10 times their weight in water making them a great enhancer in hydrating our bodies.
Control Blood Sugar Levels
Studies show that eating organic chia seed slows down how fast our bodies convert carbohydrate calories into simple sugars. This leads scientists to believe that the chia seed may have great benefits for diabetics.
The chia seed gels when becoming wet and this gel, when in our digestive systems, helps prevent some of the food, hence calories that we eat, from getting absorbed into our system. This blockage of calorie absorption makes the chia seed a great diet helper. Eating the seeds also helps dieters by making them feel fuller faster so they will be less hungry.
Easy to Digest
You do not need to grind organic chia seeds to digest them. It is a relatively easy seed to digest, whereas flax seeds are not. Often, one has to grind flax seeds to be able to process them in their digestive system. That is not the case with chia seeds.
Recipes and Uses
Organic chia seeds are a natural dietary fiber and omega-3 supplement that can be consumed raw. Chia seeds soaked in water or fruit juice are also often consumed and is known in Mexico as chia fresca. The soaked seeds are gelatinous in texture and are used in chia puddings, gruels, and porridges. Ground chia seed is used in baked goods including breads, cakes and biscuits.
Our Registered Dietitian's Top Pick
Our Registered Dietitian and Health Nut likes to make a batch of chia seed pudding and top it with dried raisins and a dash of cinnamon and sugar. Try adding chia seeds into quick breads and muffins, or adding a tablespoon to your morning oatmeal. Thanks to their fiber content, chia seeds will help to keep you full!

“Product arrived a day earlier than expected. I was (am) pleased with the fact that the items ordered are in self closing pretty resistant bags (not easy to puncture). This was my first order just to get my feet wet with the company. I have already tried the Spirulina and chia seeds in a blended drink, the figs and the cacao/goji berries energy squares and loved each thing (maybe a little too much the energy squares). I will definitely order more items from Nuts.com.”

“I have placed several orders with Nuts.com and they have amazed me every time. They have speedy service and everything comes packaged in such great packaging. I have not had one bad thing since I have ordered with them. I enjoy their products so much. It is easy to go to the whole foods store to purchase things, but you really don't know if you are going to get good quality, but with Nuts.com you know you are getting what you ordered with such detailed information. Hearing other peoples' reviews is such a great help, it gives a better understanding to what I am wanting to order. I will always continue to use this website for my health food needs. Thanks again Nuts.com for all that you are as a business. :)”

“These seeds just arrived today (two days after I ordered them-awesome!). I made the Chia gel, and it's wonderful! Great package size for the price too.
The best part is the print out of suggestions on different ways to prepare the seeds. I love that nuts.com went a step further than just sending you the product. It's a very nice touch, and it seems like they care about their customers. It was very sweet because this is my first time trying Chia seeds, so it helps a lot!”
