Our beloved grandfather, Poppy Sol, started this business in an open-air market. Three generations later, we’re still bringing smiles to our customers' faces.
Organic Chia Seeds
Organic Chia seeds (Salvia hispanica) are extremely high in Omega-3 and are loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Organic chia seeds can be eaten raw as a dietary fiber and omega-3 supplement. The soaked seeds are gelatinous in texture and are used in gruels, porridges and puddings. Ground chia seed is used in baked goods including breads, cakes and biscuits. We also carry non-organic chia seeds.
These chia seeds are organic, raw, Non-GMO, non-irradiated, and produced in the wild without pesticides.
Tiny Seeds with Big Health Benefits
Rich in Omega-3
30% of Chia seed oil is Omega-3 oil. 10% of its oil is Omega-6 oil. This is the perfect balance of essential fatty acids. Western diets are usually susceptible to a deficiency of Omega-3, but a proper Omega 3:6 ratio plays an important role by reducing inflammation in our bodies.
Organic chia seeds are great for athletes because they are highly hydrophilic, meaning they can absorb large amounts of water. They can hold 10 times their weight in water making them a great enhancer in hydrating our bodies.
Control Blood Sugar Levels
Studies show that eating organic chia seed slows down how fast our bodies convert carbohydrate calories into simple sugars. This leads scientists to believe that the chia seed may have great benefits for diabetics.
The chia seed gels when becoming wet and this gel, when in our digestive systems, helps prevent some of the food, hence calories that we eat, from getting absorbed into our system. This blockage of calorie absorption makes the chia seed a great diet helper. Eating the seeds also helps dieters by making them feel fuller faster so they will be less hungry.
Easy to Digest
You do not need to grind organic chia seeds to digest them. It is a relatively easy seed to digest, whereas flax seeds are not. Often, one has to grind flax seeds to be able to process them in their digestive system. That is not the case with chia seeds.
Recipes and Uses
Organic chia seeds are a natural dietary fiber and omega-3 supplement that can be consumed raw. Chia seeds soaked in water or fruit juice are also often consumed and is known in Mexico as chia fresca. The soaked seeds are gelatinous in texture and are used in chia puddings, gruels, and porridges. Ground chia seed is used in baked goods including breads, cakes and biscuits.
Our Registered Dietitian's Top Pick
Our Registered Dietitian and Health Nut likes to make a batch of chia seed pudding and top it with dried raisins and a dash of cinnamon and sugar. Try adding chia seeds into quick breads and muffins, or adding a tablespoon to your morning oatmeal. Thanks to their fiber content, chia seeds will help to keep you full!

“You guys are so awesome! The quality is great, customer service is very helpful, and shipping is SO fast. Recently, I almost purchased some chia seeds from the grocery store, but put them back at the last minute, knowing that I'd be happier with the ones I get from you... and since I've had such a great experience in the past, I'd rather support you guys anyway! Thank you! ”

“I have been a customer of Nuts Online for 4 years now. I discovered them when I started my raw foods diet, as they are one of the few sites that offers raw nuts and seeds. Nuts Online is my FAVORITE shopping site. The products are OUTSTANDING, absolutely the FRESHEST, and EXCEPTIONAL quality, and their PRICES are amazingly low for the quality offered. Their nuts are the biggest, their dried fruits seeds, grains and flours are the best and freshest you will find anywhere! Their products are MUCH BETTER than ANY other business can possibly offer. Customer service is the same - OUTSTANDING and EXCEPTIONAL, ALWAYS. Their delivery is speedy. They offer WONDERFUL gift baskets. Every business should operate like Nuts Online. SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT NUTS ONLINE. I LOVE YOU NUTS!!! I would be lost without you. ”
