Our beloved grandfather, Poppy Sol, started this business in an open-air market. Three generations later, we’re still bringing smiles to our customers' faces.
Popular in Italy, Lupini beans make a nutritious and tasty treat.
These large-sized beans are dried and do need to be cooked.
Pick over beans to remove any debris. Soak overnight, drain and rinse. Cover by several inches with fresh water and simmer for an hour.
Drain, rinse well, and cover with salted water (about 1 tablespoon per quart of water). Refrigerate.
Repeat this process every day for 5 days, or until the soaking brine is no longer bitter.
Beans will keep for weeks, covered with lightly salted water and refrigerated.
To serve as a snack, drain desired quantity of beans, drizzle with olive oil and freshly ground black pepper.

“Perfect timing I ran out of my prepared Lupini beans only to have your delivery show up today!
Only sad thing will be the two weeks it takes to get them ready.

“Arrived as promised yesterday. I'm now in the process of preparing them. Was very impressed with the quality. Some that I've purchased locally were not near as free of foreign matter or as clean as these. ”

“My husband's mother was born in Italy, moved to Omaha, NE as a toddler, and it was their Italian tradition to have lupini during the holidays. We've never found a source to buy them since my husband moved to CA, so relied on family in Omaha to get them for us. Now, all the family in Omaha are gone, so we are so happy to have found you!!”
