Our beloved grandfather, Poppy Sol, started this business in an open-air market. Three generations later, we’re still bringing smiles to our customers' faces.
Popular in Italy, Lupini beans make a nutritious and tasty treat.
These large-sized beans are dried and do need to be cooked.
Pick over beans to remove any debris. Soak overnight, drain and rinse. Cover by several inches with fresh water and simmer for an hour.
Drain, rinse well, and cover with salted water (about 1 tablespoon per quart of water). Refrigerate.
Repeat this process every day for 5 days, or until the soaking brine is no longer bitter.
Beans will keep for weeks, covered with lightly salted water and refrigerated.
To serve as a snack, drain desired quantity of beans, drizzle with olive oil and freshly ground black pepper.

“Got the box a couple of hours ago - what a nice packaging box and what GREAT follow up. We look forward to making the lupini beans and trying the chestnut flour for our gluten free kids.
I will definitely pass your web site around to all our friends and family. NICE experience! Thank you!

“After a frustrating search in Arizona to find my lupini beans, I came across your web site. I ordered 5 lbs of Lupini, soaked four cups of beans and now I have only to wait TWO MORE DAYS until I eat my beans of labor. When I was in Rome, Italy, a vendor selling lupini beans was in the Trevi Fountain square and I purchased them in a paper cone.....I sat @ the Fountain and satisfied my childhood memories of sitting with my beloved Father munching on these fabulous beans. My heart was happy and I look forward to enjoying my beans. Great web site.”

“Excellent Customer Service - truly a dying art these days - but SO much of a business's path to success.
I like and appreciate your follow up notes, it shows that y'all "care" - plus they're quite entertaining!
I don't normally write these, but you guys truly deserve it!
You're GREAT! And seem to be having fun with it!

“I must say that the quality of the lupini beans I received was outstanding. This was the second time I ordered these and both times I really am quite satisfied with the product. All nearly perfect! Fava beans were great too! And your customer service was absolutely wonderful. You can look forward to getting more orders from me, for sure.”

“This is the third order I placed with your company and I have extremely satisfied with the shipping and the items I have ordered (lupini beans add semolina flour). Thank you once again.”

“I placed my order on Sunday and received my package on Monday. Incredible, yes but what was inside was even better!!! My lupini beans were great, only a few throw-aways in a 5lb bag. The spices were more then I expected for the price and were fresh. The 10 grain cereal is delish. And the candy went faster then I expected. Also great tea at a great price. Will be ordering again real soon. You will be satisfied with the price and quality of their products.”
