They were great. It's hard to find these in grocery stores here in Texas, and when I do, often times a few are molded or shriveled. The bag from nuts.com was perfect. I will be ordering dried fruits and nuts in the future.

These chestnuts come beautiful packaged for freshness in a resealable pouch. Not only that, they are fresh, plump and delicious! Nothing like the dried up ones from the grocery store. Will never purchase from anywhere else! I shared with my sister and she is gonna be a customer and she hasn't even eaten one yet! lol

They were indeed fresh and tasty. I cleaned and froze them because i like to take them out one at a time, chop them, and add them to my oatmeal on a cold morning. Thwy are very healthy, high protein and low fat.

I love chestnuts. After reconstituting they aren’t as sweet as I would have liked. But all in all pretty good.

I have to have fresh chestnuts (Italian) for the holidays every year. Nuts.com always has them and these are definitely the best tasting ones to get! I boil mine. You cut an "X" in the bottom point of each chestnut. Boil for 20 minutes, cool and peel, then enjoy!!

I used to buy my chestnuts at the grocery store. Usually, about 1/3 of them were rotten and the others lasted a few days before turning. This year, the stores didn't have them and I did an online search and found Nuts.com. I ordered a 5 lb. bag. They are still good after almost two weeks and are absolutely delicious! The best I've had since I was a kid in the 50's and got them out of a barrel! Just ordered another 5 lb. bag! Awesome with shipping, and instructions. I liked everything about my recent purchases of chestnuts from Nuts.com. Navigating the web site was easy, ordering process has no issues and the delivery was quick. I love these chestnuts, tastes great after roasting in the air fryer for 20 minutes. The 5 lb bags that I ordered only had few bad pieces in each bag.

Freshest ever

I buy these every year for our Thanksgiving turkey stuffing. Large fresh European chestnuts that are in premium condition. While I'd love to buy American, those found in local grocery stores at this time of year - if they even bother to offer them - are small, dried out and many times rotten inside. I never have to worry about these being past their fresh and use date.

Chestnuts were a staple growing up. My dad would roast them in the fireplace as we gathered around, waiting for him to shell the warm roasted nuts. That's where those memories were made.

They are a time-saver! I no longer have to plan the extra hours for boiling and shelling chestnuts and I can make a recipe that uses chestnuts any time of year.

They're old and rancid. They filled out and got soft and plump after boiling for 45 minutes, but are too rancid to eat. Disappointing.
