Our beloved grandfather, Poppy Sol, started this business in an open-air market. Three generations later, we’re still bringing smiles to our customers' faces.
Meet the mulberry, which Dr. Oz calls the hottest new superfood for battling diabetes, cholesterol and heart disease. These super berries can even help you to lose weight by blocking sugar. Mulberries are a compound fruit, like raspberries and blackberries, and have a sweet, mild flavor. For a fruit, they have unusually high levels of iron and protein, and are a good source of many nutrients.
Health Benefits of Mulberries
Eating just a few dried white mulberries can be great for your health - a single serving contains significant amounts of Vitamin C, dietary fiber, calcium, iron, and protein. In addition, dried mulberries contain anthocyanins, a group of antioxidants known for their anti-inflammatory and possible anti-cancer properties. Anthocyanins have been used to improve blood circulation. Dried mulberries also contain resveratrol, the same potent antioxidant found in red wine and peanuts. Studies indicate that resveratrol may lower blood pressure and reduce the risk for heart disease.
How to Enjoy Dried Mulberries
Natural dried mulberries are a delicious and nutritious snack. These chewy berries have no additives and pack a naturally sweet taste that is similar to goji berries and dried figs. You can enjoy dried white mulberries by themselves as a snack or add them to granola or trail mix. Dried mulberries can also be reconstituted in water to improve their texture and incorporated into other recipes. Get a super immune boost by adding soaked dried mulberries to smoothies and juices. Garnish yogurt or oatmeal with the dried berries, or grind them up and add them to recipes for muffins, cupcakes, and other baked goods. Mulberries pair exceptionally well with other superfruits like goji berries and blueberries. They can also be used to make puddings and wines.
At Nuts.com, we have a special affinity for mulberries, as our store was located on Mulberry Street in Newark, New Jersey for decades.
The Mulberry Tree
Our dried mulberries come from the white mulberry tree. The mulberry tree is also notable for its leaves, which are one of the only foods that silkworms will eat. Mulberry trees are great to have in the yard because they grow very quickly, provide a lot of shade, and grow tasty berries every year. They are also very resistant to drought and can effectively withstand cold temperatures. White mulberry trees are named after the color of their buds, although the fruit they produce is also white. During harvest time, the trees are shaken to remove the fresh mulberries from their branches and the falling fruits are collected into soft cloth nets.
Our mulberries are crunchy.

“OK SO I AM TOTALLY CONVINCED:
Why do I say that? because this is my second time ordering from Nuts.Com and the second time was better than the first. I was in Whole Foods the other day and saw they had mulberries in stock. I remembered I ordered from nuts.com the first time. I decided to do order from nuts.com again. What surprised me was that not only is nuts.com less expensive, but I ordered in the week of the July fourth holiday. I was expecting it to arrive on Monday and it came two days early!!! So from this day forward, I made up in my mind, I am going to be a regular customer with Nuts.com forever! Thanks Nuts.com for your excellent and speedy customer service. I love you guys!”

“I introduced a friend at work to nuts.com, and she introduced ME to dried mulberries. She bought them for the advertised heath benefit - I went for them just because I like them. They are very mildly sweet, almost smelling of fresh wheat, and are tougher, drier sort of chewy - which makes me slow down to enjoy them.”

“DELISH!!! A++ I totally was not expecting the great taste and freshness! The packing is so awesome too... from the shipping box to the pouches the nuts come in! Definitely will purchase again!”

“A flavor from my childhood days. Although they seem tastier than I remember. The service was prompt and courteous with an engaging write up. All in all, a worthy buy..”

“Very yummy snack food! Since these are so low calorie and full of goodness for our bodies I found myself snacking on these throughout the day. The one pound bag lasted five days. That's without sharing. I'm going to have to order a bigger quantity next time. Trying to keep blood pressure down, also diabetes runs in my family so trying to be preemptive.”
