100% Matcha Green Tea Powder
Our 100% GRADE A Premium Usacha Matcha Green Tea Powder is imported from Shizuoka, Japan. Matcha is the tea used in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies.
Matcha is a high-quality green tea powder with a fine texture. Its tea leaves are grown only in Japan and are shielded from sunlight several weeks before harvest. This causes the leaves to darken and produce higher levels of amino acids. After the best tea leaves are picked, they are dried out and ground manually to a fine powder on a stone mill to protect the nutrients in the leaves.
Matcha tea powder was first cultivated by Japanese Zen priests, who developed rituals incorporating matcha. During Japanese tea ceremonies, participants prepare matcha green tea in a series of choreographed steps to achieve beauty, tranquility, and enlightenment. Matcha is the only tea used in these ceremonies, which can range from formal to social.
Matcha For Your Health
Many people drink green tea for its health benefits or to lose weight, but matcha does much more than this. Matcha green tea powder contains more antioxidants than virtually any other food, including acai berries and pomegranates. It also contains high levels of L-theanine, an amino acid which lowers stress levels but preserves alertness. The L-theanine counteracts the caffeine in the tea, making matcha ideal for creating a mental state of relaxed alertness.
Since matcha leaves are grown in the shade and protected from sunlight, matcha boasts the richest source of chlorophyll compared to all other teas. Chlorophyll is a powerful cleansing and detoxifying agent that helps rid the body of heavy metals and other toxins. It is also responsible for the powder's signature verdant color.
Green tea is a uniquely rich source of catechins, a group of antioxidants that protect cells from disruption by free radicals. The oxidative damage caused to normal cells by free radicals has been linked to chronic conditions like cancer, heart disease, and degenerative diseases related to aging. The most prominent catechin found in matcha tea is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), an even more potent form of antioxidant than Vitamin C or E. Matcha powder contains a more highly concentrated form of EGCG than its loose leaf tea counterpart.
Taste and Uses
Due to its high levels of amino acids, matcha green tea has a deep and complex taste, initially bitter but with a sweet aftertaste. Aside from tea, matcha green tea powder can also be used for making green tea yogurt, green tea ice cream, or any other desserts or treats that call for green tea.
To make matcha green tea, simply blend 0.5-1 teaspoon of 100% matcha powder and a small amount of hot water with a spoon to make a smooth paste. Add more water and sweetener as desired. Or, using a traditional bamboo whisk, put 0.5-1 teaspoon of 100% matcha powder in a large cup or a drinking bowl and add a small amount of hot water. Whisk in a quick, light zig-zag motion until a layer of green froth appears on the surface. Add more water if desired. 100% matcha powder can be used for thin or thick matcha. The ideal water temperature for 100% matcha green tea is 150-180 degrees Fahrenheit.

“Wow! I am impressed with my order! I opened my box as soon as it arrived and had already opened my delicious Pluots before I was even inside! I love my 100% matcha green tea and matcha green tea powder mix -which is the whole reason for my order! I cannot wait to try my muesli and bulgar wheat! Nuts.com also gave me some Chia seeds which are great too! I had no idea what they were but was happy that nuts online has recipes. I just finished my Chia smoothie and it was wonderful! I can't wait to try the Chia mushroom soup next! ”

“My first time ordering and I am impressed. The Matcha, Spirulina, and Chlorealla are as lush as a tropical forest. And the Hazelnuts/Brazil nuts are exceptional. I had purchased a pound of "large" California hazelnuts a couple of days ago so I did a comparison test. And Nuts.com is the winner by a long shot. The Nuts.com are probably 50% larger, 50% sweeter, and 100% fresher. Excellent products Nut team! And the price is right, too.”

“We haven't had a chance to try everything yet, but what we have tried has been phenomenal!!! The honey roasted cashews are great! The unsalted edame and turkish figs are wonderful as well. The matcha green tea is much better than the one I was using, which was supposed to be one of the best! Yours has a much better taste and not as bitter - much better quality! And thank you so very much for the free sample of jumbo medjool dates. They're the best dates we've ever had (even better than the organic ones we purchased, and those are really good)!!!
Thank you for your wonderful company and service, including the fast shipping! We look forward to ordering from you again in the future!!!”

“Just received my first order today! I opened the bag of toasted corn, which were awesome! Tried the Dry Roasted Edamame, awesome! The Turkish Figs and Medjool Dates felt plump (through the package). Mixed up a glass of coconut water with the 100% Matcha before my workout, and off I went!
