| "I just used the Hearty Whole Grain Bread Mix (...which should be re-named GF Pumpernickel...) for the 1st time. I followed the recipe as directed, but instead of making a loaf, I made Kaiser rolls using an oiled 1/2 cup scoop to measure mix directly onto an oiled baking sheet. Reduce baking time by about half. Ready when a skewer inserted into the middle of a bun comes out clean. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum!

This was my first attempt at making GF bread from a mix and I am delighted with the texture and flavor of the loaf.
This bread mix was as easy to prepare as mixing a cake. The loaf rose beautifully and looks like a good yeast sandwich bread.
What a thrill to know that I can make healthy GF bread now that tastes good and doesn't crumble into a sloppy mess like so many GF loaves.
Next time I will add a big pinch of salt to the mix to enhance the flavor. Other than that, this was perfection for a basic staple loaf. It will hold its shape in a sandwich or panini.
I also love the price. Comparable to a good quality bread from any grocery store, even after you factor in the few fresh ingredients (eggs, butter, milk) and cost of the gas to cook it. FAR cheaper than the grossly expensive (and often stale) GF bread from the health food store! Fresh and delicious.

| "A friend gave me a bit of your bisquit mix, enough to turn out 9 small drop bisquits using oil rather than shortning. They were delicious. I've also made a 1/2 recipe of corn bread that was equally delicious. I particularly like the short texture of these mix recipes.
When I get back to our permanent residence in Mont Vernon, NH in March, I will get back to you with an order, for I, my son and 2 of his kids are all gluten intolerant. So far.
I did speak with someone by phone last week about your producing several gravy mixes that are gluten and dairy free. Maybe chicken, beef and mushroom to start. Many gluten intolerant people are also dairy intolerant, and other companies do not consider that. I of course could make my own, but it requires considerably more time and energy than it should be. There was, 2yrs. ago an excellent ready to serve line produced in VT around the holidays, packaged in an excellent little refrigerated container and stuck in the end corner of a specialty meat case. It did not come back in 2011, but it was just loaded with flavor and fine texture - couldn't want better. No one even remembered it. I would say store placement would be really important for a sell through since it is a specialty item. A seasoned powder would be just as helpful.

| "Today I tried my second batch of your Honey Bran Muffin Mix. The first batch was so tasty, that I could not wait to make them again! This time I added white grape juice for a liquid and I added: 1/4 cup of mashed ripe banana, 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts, and a half cup of your Unsweetened Banana Chips (chopped), and a 1/2 cup of raisins. I increased the liquid from 1 cup by 1/4-1/2 cup.
Your mix has a wonderful flavor on its own and so easy to use that it made it easy for me to experiment and add my own additional ingredients and still make a great muffin before leaving for work this morning! Thank you for making such high quality products at such an affordable price. It helps me to be a "star" chef in my kitchen! My family sincerely appreciates it!" |
