Recipe for Brazil Nut Torte

Recipe Ingredients:
eggs separated
cup sugar
1/2  pound Brazil Nuts
teaspoon baking powder
1/4  teaspoon salt
1/2  pint heavy cream, whipped and sweetened
can peaches, drained
Maraschino cherries

Cooking Directions:
1.  Beat egg yolks and add sugar, beating well. Add nuts, naking powder, salt, and then fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.

2.  Turn into oblong baking tin (13"x9"x2") or 2 buttered 9" layer cake tins.

3.  Bake in preheated 375 F over for 45 to 60 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center can be removed clean.

4.  When baked, remove from tin and allow to cool.

5.  If baked in an oblong tin, cut in half, fill and cover with whipped cream and on top arrange the peaches garnished with cherries. If layer cake tins are used, join layers with some of the whipped cream mixture, spread the rest on top and garnish with the cherries.
