In addition to our sweet varieties, we also have savory peanut butter-filled pretzels and salty cheese pretzels to please even the pickiest eater.

With more than 20 pretzel options, it’s difficult not to find a variety that suits your taste buds or your special occasion. Yogurt and chocolate coated pretzels are also a great addition to weddings and baby showers, particularly for candy buffets. Just try not to eat the entire bag before your guests get there. (We know that can be difficult! Even we’ve done it before… .)

Historical Reference

Pretzels originated in 610 A.D near southern France or Northern Italy. A monk was preparing unleavened bread for Lent and he realized that he could turn the leftover dough into a treat to reward children for reciting their prayers. Pretzels became popular and soon made their way into European culture to become a symbol for good fortune, health, and prosperity. The pretzel then made its way to America in 1620 aboard the Mayflower. It was such a popular snack that they were an often-traded item.

The hard pretzel that we eat today wasn’t invented until a baker’s apprentice in Pennsylvania dozed off when baking soft pretzels. He started a fire and ended up baking the pretzels twice as long as necessary. This process accidentally created the crunchy, crisp pretzel that we know and love today.
