Freeze Dried Cheddar Cheese
Freeze dried cheddar cheese is great for snacking and does not require refrigeration. The cheese has a long shelf-life, which makes it the ideal salty snack for munching on during road trips or anytime you travel. Bring it on the trails or just sprinkle some on your favorite foods for a cheesy crunch.
It’s even great for cooking and can be used in recipes that call for regular shredded cheese, like nacho cheese, pizzas, or macaroni & cheese. The cheese is also a rich source of protein and calcium, and can satisfy a cheesy cheddar craving anytime, anywhere!
To rehydrate freeze dried cheddar cheese, use 1 part water to 4 parts cheese. Slowly pour water over the cheese, and let it sit 5-15 minutes as it rehydrates. Warm water will speed up rehydration, while cold water will take a little longer. The cheese should become moist, and not soggy. Once it’s completely rehydrated, you can use it just like regular shredded cheddar cheese.
