Our beloved grandfather, Poppy Sol, started this business in an open-air market. Three generations later, we’re still bringing smiles to our customers' faces.
Also known as Inca Peanuts or Inca Nuts, Sacha Inchi is touted by many as one of the best new superfoods. One of the richest sources in the world of omega fatty acids, Inca Peanuts are also loaded with protein, fiber, and antioxidants. Our Sacha Inchi is dry roasted to nutty, crunchy, perfection - truly a super food!
Grown in the Amazon Rainforest and the high Andes Mountains of Peru, Sacha Inchi has been part of the Inca diet for 3000 years. The Sacha Inchi plant, Plukenetia volubilis, is a rainforest vine, with star-shaped seed pods, meaning that Inca Peanuts are technically seeds, not nuts. However, our Sacha Inchi seeds do have a unique, mild, nutty taste that many compare to that of a dark roasted peanut with a slight woody flavor.
Sacha Inchi's benefits for health and nutrition have been widely publicized recently, especially by medical personality Dr. Oz, who lists it as his best snack for weight loss. Medical studies have shown that Sacha Inchi's high concentration and proper balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids reduces the risk of heart disease, and its fats are largely monounsaturated and polyunsaturated. Finally, as a complete protein, Inca Peanuts contain every amino acid. Try lightly tossing in a little olive oil and sea salt to create a great taste!
Sacha Inchi: Our Registered Dietitian's Top Pick
Our Registered Dietitian and Health Nut likes that Sacha Inchi provide a complete sources of protein because they have all essential amino acids and a small handful (one ounce) has about 8 grams of protein. They add great crunch to salads or a perfect for swap from traditional nuts.

“Got my package within a week during the Xmas rush. I put some Chia Seeds on my salad and tasted the Sacha Inchi and cacao beans. Everything was fresh and delicious. I love the fact that everything comes in resealable bags and has the nutrition facts on the bag (except cacao beans) so I can log in my food intake. Love it and will buy again when I run out. Thanks Nutsonline!”
