Chestnuts roasting on an open fire...Traditional fresh chestnuts. Everyone loves that delicious taste and unforgettable smell of fresh roasting chestnuts. These are the largest chestnuts grown, and are flown in from Italy.
***Approximately 20-25 in a pound***
To help preserve their freshness, your bag might arrive with little holes punched in them. This is normal and is done only to keep them fresh.
Chestnuts have a very high moisture content, and are extremely perishable. They must be stored under refrigeration in as close to freezing temperatures as possible. It is also recommended that they are stored with as high humidity as possible. If stored in this manner, they can stay fresh for a couple of weeks. We recommend storing the nuts in perforated plastic bags, or solid plastic bags that you've put some holes in. Place a damp paper towel in with them. To cook chestnuts, you can boil them or roast them. When roasting, cut a small slit in the chestnut to prevent them from exploding during the roasting process. Bake in the oven at 425 for 10-15 minutes or until the outer skin begins to peel back. You can also cook on the stove top or over an open flame.

“my chestnuts arrived yesterday. I already had the oven preheated. I was born in the east, and have missed this treat for years. I'm ashamed to admit that I ate an entire pound by myself! the ABSOLUTE best I've ever had! thanks so much for your product and the prompt delivery. Sincerely, KC stroup”

“I has been well over 20 years since I moved from Pittsburgh and into Florida. That long since I have had chestnuts. I have been searching for 8 years. I have finally ended my search. Talk about prompt delivery. They arrived the day you said they would. Good job. They are as big and pretty as I remember them. I can't wait to cook some up and enjoy them. As soon as I do, I will be back with another great testimonial. ”

“Dear Friends at Nuts Online,
Received the chestnuts and fried peas in record time. Thank you so much!
I'm impressed with your professionalism and great service.
I'm looking forward to ordering again soon since chestnuts are really hard to find in Oklahoma and they are really hard to find as fresh as these at such a fair price!
I'll be keeping your company in mind for gift-giving.
If you ever decided to offer the smaller Italian type chestnuts, please let me know.
Keep up the great work! I'm sending your information to my friends and family members.

“You saved our day!! We had a party and chestnuts were the main character (couldn't find at the local supermarket). It was our first time buying food online (little scared). However, they were of an excellent quality and everybody loved them. Also delivery time worked perfectly.

“The testimonials you read on this Website are absolutely true! I placed an order on late Wednesday afternoon for chestnuts and had my nuts on Friday. It is almost unbelievable. One bit of information that is often left out of the testimonials is the packaging Nuts Online uses. They must be specially made. The chestnuts are in a bag with an air vent. The raw peanuts in shell come in a black bag. Clearly, this is done to protect freshness and quality of the various items, each needing its own individual protection. And the quality of every item I ordered is superb, top notch, Grade A all the way. I am so glad I came upon your Website and will be ordering again very soon! Thank you all.”

“We were pleasantly surprised when the chestnuts arrived for New Years Eve, even though tracking said they would arrive January 2. We roasted them in a dutch oven over an 'open fire' in our fireplace and they were delightful. Sweet, plump and a nice large size. Thanks!”

“These are the chestnuts I remember from years back. In the recent years, store chestnuts have been old and after roasting you cannot get the skin off. These chestnuts are worth every penny and I can now totally agree with the other testimonials. I ordered 1 lb then re-ordered 3 more and now I'm ordering another. My father who is from Italy and is 89 years old couldn't stop bragging about these chestnuts... Please continue to provide these imported gems as the seasons allow.”

“The chestnuts I ordered are fantastic, delicious and very fresh. The mixed nuts are great but the pumpkin pie malted milk balls are out of this world. They were so good I took them to my sister-in-laws house so my wife and I would not eat them all in one go. The next day while visiting my sister-in-law I thought I would grab one or two of them only to find she and her family had eaten all but 7 or 8 of them. She did apologise but informed me they were so good none of them could resist!!!!”
