Our beloved grandfather, Poppy Sol, started this business in an open-air market. Three generations later, we’re still bringing smiles to our customers' faces.
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire...Traditional fresh chestnuts. Everyone loves that delicious taste and unforgettable smell of fresh roasting chestnuts. These are the largest chestnuts grown, and are flown in from Italy.
***Approximately 20-25 in a pound***
To help preserve their freshness, your bag might arrive with little holes punched in them. This is normal and is done only to keep them fresh.
Chestnuts have a very high moisture content, and are extremely perishable. They must be stored under refrigeration in as close to freezing temperatures as possible. It is also recommended that they are stored with as high humidity as possible. If stored in this manner, they can stay fresh for a couple of weeks. We recommend storing the nuts in perforated plastic bags, or solid plastic bags that you've put some holes in. Place a damp paper towel in with them. To cook chestnuts, you can boil them or roast them. When roasting, cut a small slit in the chestnut to prevent them from exploding during the roasting process. Bake in the oven at 425 for 10-15 minutes or until the outer skin begins to peel back. You can also cook on the stove top or over an open flame.

“Dear Jeff and Family,
Our boxed goodies arrived by comet this starry Monday evening, packed in a flurry of white snow.
Wow! We can hardly express our delight.
Today, some Brazil nuts and dried whole cherries became the focal ingredients of a special dessert.
And we advanced out of our cottage to acquire (as close as we could find) a chestnut knife to properly-prepare the awaiting fresh chestnuts.
Tonight ,some will be roasting on an open fire...
This Sunday, friends will be dropping-in for our chestnut pancakes...
(Thanks also for the Turkish fig

Nuts-Online delights and to share them.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a most nutty-flavored New Year.

“My Family is originally from Italy, we are used to quality Chestnuts, and Nuts OnLine is the only place that we can trust. We are always satisfied with the pure flavor. Living in Virginia, we used to buy them at local grocery, and it was hit and miss. Some were always molded and rotten. The Holidays are more Special with these wonderful Chestnuts. Thank You”

“I bought these around Christmas time to make stuffing. Since I moved back to an area that only offers chestnuts in the store in the early fall, I needed to find them somewhere -- or risk disappointing my husband. These were fresher, a little larger, toasted evenly, and there weren't as many "bad ones" that wouldn't peel.”
