Gluten-Free Food

If you're looking for gluten-free food, you've come to the right place! Since we have hundreds of gluten-free products, we maintain a separate gluten-free production line in our warehouse to ensure the purity of our products. You will find two categories of Gluten-Free products on our site — gluten-free and certified gluten-free.

Some of our gluten-free products are certified by the Gluten-Free Food Program (GFFP), as indicated by the use of GFFP’s certification mark next to those products on our website. Endorsed by the National Celiac Association, GFFP is the most comprehensive and practical gluten-free certification program widely recognized by retailers and food safety leaders. The certification guarantees that our products contain less than 5 parts per million (ppm) of gluten.

While some of our gluten-free products aren't GFFP-certified, they still adhere to federal guidelines set by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). They are handled on a dedicated gluten-free production line in a separate area of our warehouse.

The federal guidelines for gluten-free labeling are as follows.

  • 1. The rule specifies, among other criteria, that any foods that carry the label “gluten-free,” “no gluten,” “free of gluten,” or “without gluten” must contain less than 20 parts per million (ppm) of gluten.

  • 2. Besides the limit of gluten to 20 ppm, the rule permits labeling a food “gluten-free, if the food does not contain: An ingredient that is any type of wheat, rye, barley, or crossbreeds of these grains; an ingredient derived from these grains that has not been processed to remove gluten; or, an ingredient derived from these grains that has been processed to remove gluten but results in the food containing more than 20 ppm of gluten.

  • 3. You can find more information here.

Frequently asked questions about gluten-free

  • Why did you decide to pursue Gluten-Free Certification?

Jeff was sitting across the dinner table from Jen, his wife’s best friend, and she was telling him how difficult it is to find reliable and affordable gluten-free products. He had heard of people having gluten intolerances, but little did he know about the prevalence of celiac disease. After finding out that 1% of the population is gluten intolerant (wowsers!), Jeff and the Nutty Family decided to go a step beyond the naturally gluten-free products offered by Nuts.com and pursue the Gluten-Free Food Program's (GFFP) certification.
