Large Pearl Tapioca
Old fashioned large pearl tapioca. Use to make an old fashioned tapioca pudding like Grandma used to make!
Size #40, 1/5" diameter
Soak 1/2 cup tapioca in water overnight in a 1-1/2 quart saucepan. Add milk, salt and lightly beaten egg yolks to tapioca and stir over medium heat until boiling. Simmer uncovered over very low heat for 10-15 minutes. Stir often. Beat egg whites with sugar until soft peaks form. Fold about 3/4 cup of hot tapioca into the egg whites, then gently fold mixture back into saucepan. Stir over low heat for about 3 minutes. Cool 15 minutes then add vanilla. Serve warm or chilled, plain or with fruits, nutmeg or coconut mixed in. Makes 3-1/2 cups (4 servings).

“Today I received my order of Turkish figs and pearl tapioca. The figs are delicious, and taste like the ones I remember from childhood. The tapioca is a nice size and look perfect. Also included was a free gift of candied ginger, which it is the best I've ever tasted! Thanks so much, I'll be reordering from you on a regular basis.”

“I got my order yesterday...you have the best deal on tapioca that I have found...and EVERYTHING else (organic gummy bears, organic cocoa almonds, CHOCOLATE COVERED CHERRIES!) is perfectly yummy...you guys are my new faves, and also my new gift source. Hoping sometime you might consider more recycleable packaging!”

“I received the much desired Large Pearl Tapioca today. Many stores (at least where I'm at) do not carry this product anymore, and the ones that do price this like its a rare commodity. Yours was one of the least expensive I could find, easy to order and quickly shipped. I'm impressed and will order from you again. Thank you for your excellent service!”

“I love this recipe! It is so thick and creamy it was hard not to eat it straight from the pot. I served this up with peaches from the neighbors farm and everybody loved it. I love custard and tapioca pudding, but this may be my new favorite. Thanks for sharing!”

“Thank you for such fast service! I was so pleased to find these hard to find items. The large pearl tapioca brings me back to my childhood and I can't wait to share the chips with my family at the reunion!
Thanks for the memories!”

“What a fun company to do business with. Just opened my package of pearl tapioca. It even arrived a day earlier than expected. Can't wait to make some. Thanks again for your prompt and unenthusiastic service. ”

“Tapioca arrived in excellent condition,
however a review of the tapioca pudding recipe reveals entirely too much sugar and my Grandma would cringe at that. She used 1/2 cup in 4 cups of milk.”

“My mom just received her large pearl tapioca (just 2 days after I ordered it) and she's thrilled. She hasn't been able to find it for some time now. I found your site through a Google search and I'll be back for more of your goodies. Thanks for the excellent service!”

“I haven't made the pudding yet, but the tapioca large pearls are the largest I have seen since I was a child. I've been unable to find them anywhere until the package you just delivered. I'm really looking forward to homemade tapioca pudding like my mom used to make. Thanks a bunch! (One thing bothered me,though. It was the cost of shipping being more than twice the cost of two packages of tapioca. I bought it anyway, but that was why I did not order anything else.)”
