St. John's Bread
These dried and hard carobs are also known as St. John's Bread because, according to tradition of some Christians, St. John the Baptist subsisted on them in the wilderness. Carob pods are considered to be a remarkable antidiarrheal. Carob is said to be high in fiber and rich in one class of tannins (polyphenols) that manifest strong antiviral and antiseptic properties.
There are approximately 18-20 in a pound.
***PLEASE BE CAREFUL OF THE HARD SEEDS INSIDE THE POD. THEY ARE NOT EDIBLE***

“My order is here! I ordered on Thursday afternoon and the order arrived by FedEx early Saturday afternoon - Yay, Wilson!! I've tried the raw organic macadamias, brazil nuts, Turkish figs, cacao beans, and carob pods. The raw cacao powder and organic chlorella powder (at a GREAT price, btw) will have to wait for the next smoothie - okay, I have strange tastes, so shoot me! All arrived fresh and delicious and I've added my friends to the Nuts Online mailing list. Thank you so much for your great products!!”
