Our beloved grandfather, Poppy Sol, started this business in an open-air market. Three generations later, we’re still bringing smiles to our customers' faces.
Our stevia powder is ground from the natural extract of stevia leaves. This all natural powder is a great sweetener - a little stevia goes a long way to sweeten your beverages and recipes. It contains no calories or chemical aftertastes like other artificial sweeteners.
Our stevia powder is produced using a 100% water extraction method. It contains 90% steviosides and it contains no additives, processing aids, carriers, or other sweeteners. It is non-GMO.
How Should I Use Stevia Powder?
Stevia powder can be used in place of sugar in most recipes. Stevia is 250 times sweeter than sugar, so you will need to adjust your recipes accordingly. As a general rule of thumb, 1 teaspoon of stevia powder has the same sweetening capabilities as 1 cup of sugar. However, we suggest that you experiment to find the amount of stevia that works best for your tastes. A pinch of stevia powder may be all you need to sweeten beverages like coffee and tea. Since stevia does not caramelize or brown as sugar does, it is not recommended for recipes like meringues and caramel.
What is Stevia Powder?
Stevia is a type of herb that has a naturally intense sweet taste. Stevia leaves contain compounds called glycosides, particularly steviosides, which are responsible for giving the leaves their sweet flavor. These steviosides are extracted from whole dried stevia leaves and ground into a fine powder. The stevia plant is native to South America and has been used as a natural sweetener there for hundreds of years. More recently, stevia’s popularity and availability has increased in the United States and other countries as an alternative sweetener that is free of calories and sugar.

“Use very sparingly. Extremely sweet. Start with a scant 1/8 tsp in anything you use. More can taste too sweet and then you may not like it. LESS IS MORE ENJOYABLE. I have used for years in this pure form. This is the best way to buy it. It will never get hard in this form. Others with fillers will harden.”

“Love the stevia! For my coffee I used to use 2 packets of Truvia and now I just need the equivalent of about 1/20th of one of those packets. Its like confectioners sugar and "measuring" can be difficult because just a little too much overpowers whatever you are using it in. The taste is nice and natural. I bought 4oz and I am sure it will last close to a year with daily drinking of tea and coffee! I love it.”
