Our beloved grandfather, Poppy Sol, started this business in an open-air market. Three generations later, we’re still bringing smiles to our customers' faces.
Alum powder is a crystalline powder that is most commonly used in pickling; it keeps pickles firm and crispy.
THIS ALUM WILL NOT GROW CRYSTALS.
Alum powder is often used to firm and crispen pickles by letting them soak in a sealed brine solution of water, vinegar, salt, spices, and alum powder for several weeks. Cucumbers should be pickled at the peak of freshness because they will become soft after a few days. Use up to 1/4 teaspoon of alum per pint of solution.
Alum's tissue-shrinking properties gave it a starring role in multiple episodes of the cartoon Looney Tunes in which alum was shown to comically shrink the characters' heads and pucker up lips.

“Thanks for getting the alum to me so promply. You are a life saver. I was paying a fortune at the store for these tiny containers. It is way more economical to buy in a large quantity. This way I can make my pickles and it won't cost a fortune. I was paying for 7 small containers what I bought from you in a 5 lb. bag. Thanks again.
To anyone who is thinking of using this company I would highly recommend them for their ease of use, their promptness in filling and shipping their orders and their concern for their customers needs. They let me know when the order was filled and shipped and I got a follow up email almost immediately after the package was delivered. It is hard to find this kind of service in this day and age.
Thanks again for the prompt service.”

Thanks for reminding me what great service is all about.”
