Our beloved grandfather, Poppy Sol, started this business in an open-air market. Three generations later, we’re still bringing smiles to our customers' faces.
Our hibiscus flowers are ideal for brewing hibiscus tea, a smooth, relaxing, naturally caffeine-free drink with a fragrant aroma and a tangy, cranberry-like flavor. Gaze into your teacup and you'll see rehydrated hibiscus flowers serenely floating in the deep magenta-colored tea. Hot hibiscus tea is soothing in the winter, while iced hibiscus tea delivers a cool kick in the summer.
Mix hibiscus tea leaves with other herbs and flowers for flavorful herbal beverages. And don't throw out these fragrant petals after one use – the flowers can be steeped multiple times until the magenta color begins to fade. The flowers for our tea are picked from the bright red hibiscus plants, grown in warm regions around the world.
Hibiscus Tea Health Bits & Bites
1. Lowers Blood Pressure: A 2008 Tufts University study found that hypertensive adults who drank 3 cups of hibiscus tea each day were able to lower their blood pressure.
2. Good For Your Cholesterol: A 2009 study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that patients who drank 2 cups of hibiscus tea a day for a month had a significant decrease in their LDL ("bad") cholesterol and an increase in their HDL ("good") cholesterol.
3. Antioxidant Rich: Hibiscus flowers contain high concentrations of the antioxidants in the form of Vitamin C, cyaniding, and anthocyanins. These antioxidants may help mitigate damage from free radicals.
Cultures throughout history have enjoyed hibiscus tea, from the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt to many countries in Central America and the Caribbean. In Hawaiian culture, a single Hibiscus flower is usually worn by women and depending on which ear it is worn behind, it signals whether or not she is available for marriage.

“LOVE IT! I didn't know where to get hibiscus flowers... they're not common in Colorado, but I got hooked on them when visiting Mexico last September. Nuts.com came up on my google search, and I couldn't be happier. I got my bag of hibiscus yesterday and immediately made myself a glass. They were sooo tasty and fresh! I will definitely order through you guys again!
Ps- Can't wait to try the Irish breakfast tea that I got as well. It's my FAVORITE!”

“Just received my third big order from you guys - thrilled as always! I live in a capital city with plenty of natural food shops, but you are now my go-to source.
I'd previously only been able to find hibiscus flowers at one of these shops, and they were macerated near-odourless bits at a premium price. I opened the large bag that I ordered from you, and there's no comparison. Huge, intact blossoms with great colour and a rich immediate fragrance. Chamomile was the same, though I would warn that 1lb of chamomile is a HUGE bag!
Amazing quality for the price all round, even taking shipping/taxes/duties to Canada into account. My only suggestion would be to make more of your products available in sample sizes...”
