I would include all kinds of nuts: cashews, pistachio, almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, as many kinds of dried fruit as possible.... cranberries, raisins, blueberries, strawberries, bananas and a variety of chocolate covered nuts and fruits. My grandsons are VERY active. David is 8 and in the third grade. He has ADHD and is SO very thin. I would love to see him have all of a healthy trail mix he could get so he would put on a few pounds with such a healthy snack. John is 5 1/2 and has just started full day kindergarten. He is somewhere on the Autisim spectrum scale, but is communicating very well and learning many things other children of his age do NOT know yet! He counts to 20 in French, German, Spanish as well as English. John is also a somewhat picky eater but both boys LOVE nuts and dried fruits. Their eyes always light up and I would LOVE to put a smile on their little faces by being able to give them the 5lbs of Trail Mix prize!
